Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
The Latin Comedy Jam, featured on Netflix and Comedy Central, is making its way back to Clovis for a fourth time.
This version, scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday at the Clovis Civic Center, features comics Flaco Martinez, Martin Rizo and Iggy Samaniego. None of them were part of the previous three Clovis shows.
Mike Gotti, the show's host and producer, describes the Latin Comedy Jam as "all around funny" with fresh, new comedy.
"You'll get more than you expected," Gotti said. "The comics will work hard for you and make you laugh."
The comics, he explains, all have different styles in this themed show, but the content is universal and relatable and, "the show is meant for everybody."
Gotti considers The Latin Comedy Jam a family show, but advises parental discretion as the content is mature, "but not overbearing."
Gotti says Clovis is a regular stop on the group's tour.
"The crowds are always great," he says. "The food in New Mexico is great. Lots of plusses besides a great show."
He books smaller venues to "give small towns the same entertainment bigger cities are getting. It's not about the money. It's about entertaining people."
Tickets are available at the civic center administration office, at the Clovis and Portales locations of Aaron's and at http://www.laughkings.com. Prices are $23 general admission, $27 for a VIP table seat and $300 for a private VIP table.
