1977: A U.S. District Court judge in Roswell resentenced nine Clovis liquor dealers after an appeals court said their original sentence was improper.

The dealers had originally been convicted of price fixing and ordered to pay $232,500 in "community restitution" to the Curry / Roosevelt County Council on Alcoholism.

The new sentences were in the form of fines paid to the state. The fines equaled the restitution payments.
