Clovis man sentenced for domestic violence incident

CLOVIS — A Clovis man was sentenced Thursday for a 2015 domestic violence incident, according to a release from the district attorney’s office.

Joshua Jackson, 31, was sentenced to 45 years by District Judge Drew Tatum. He was convicted in February on two counts of criminal sexual penetration, three counts of aggravated battery on a household member and criminal sexual contact. His sentence will follow an 18-year sentence he’d previously received for crimes against the same victim.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Brian Stover prosecuted the case for the state, and criminal defense attorney Jonathan Miller of Albuquerque represented Jackson.

“Mr. Jackson looks forward to his appeal,” Miller said.
