BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Freshman Melina Gryschka placed eighth in the mile and 12th in the 3K over the weekend, pacing Eastern New Mexico University’s showing in the NCAA Division II national indoor track championships.
Gryschka, from Garbsen, Germany, scored the only point for ENMU with her time of 4 minutes, 47.25 seconds in the mile. Her 3K time was 9:45.36.
Also for the women, senior Klaudia Szych was 10th in the 800 in 2:10.85. For the men, Omer Almog ran 14th in the mile at 4:17.19 while Marcus Parker did not qualify for the finals in the 200, finishing 10th in Friday’s preliminary competition with a time of 21.59.
ENMU tracksters begin their outdoor season on Saturday in the Willie Williams Invitational at Tucson, Arizona.
