New CEO selected for Portales hospital

PORTALES — The Roosevelt County Hospital Board of Directors has selected a new chief executive officer for its hospital district.

Kaye Green of Salisbury, North Carolina, will assume the role in early June.

Former CEO Larry Leaming left the hospital in January to take a position in Estes Park, Colorado.

Bo Beames, vice president of regional administration for Presbyterian Health Services, has been serving as Interim CEO since Leaming’s absence. According to a hospital press release, Beames will continue to serve as interim CEO through May “to assist with the leadership transition.”

Green most recently served as CEO of W. G. Hefner Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salisbury and has held previous CEO and chief operating officer positions with veterans organizations in Albuquerque, El Paso, Texas, and St. Petersburg, Florida, according to the release.

Green holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor of science degree from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview.

“The Board is very pleased to have a leader of Kaye’s caliber assuming the CEO role of our local hospital. Kay has a proven leadership history with a strong record of accomplishments,” said Paul Benoit, RGH board chairman.

“Her values, experience and background are very much in alignment with what our local board is looking for in the next person to lead RGH through the complexities and impending challenges facing the health care industry,“

Benoit said the process of searching for a new hospital administrator has been “a very rigorous, thorough, time-consuming and comprehensive search process,” and hospital staff played a vital role in helping.

“I am very excited to be joining the RGH team. I have a passion for serving others, and I am thrilled to bring my passion for people and patient-centered health care of the highest quality to the Portales area,” Green said in the press release. “Having grown up in the High Plains, I feel honored and blessed to be coming back to a place that already feels like ‘home.’”
