Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

Club notes - April 9

Curry County Republican Women

Mike Gray, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Roosevelt and Curry counties, spoke about the process of how families are selected to assist in building/receiving a home from Habitat for Humanity, a faith-based organization. It's not solely a project to build a home for a family, but an effort to build a relationship with the family and teach them family budgeting, child care skills, and whatever else they need to succeed in maintaining their home and family needs. Habitat for Humanity is 80% volunteer workers and corporate sponsors help to keep costs down to about 70% of actual costs. Mr. Gray encouraged all of the CCAER members to consider volunteering their time helping this worthy cause.

We invite all retired Curry County teachers to join us at K-Bob's at 11:30 a.m. for the program. Our next meeting will be May 2.
