Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
The Clovis Civic Center will play host Thursday to the Eastern New Mexico Spring Job Fair.
The event, set for 3 p.m.-7 p.m., is sponsored by Eastern Plains Council of Governments.
Raymond Mondragon, EPCOG’s economic development director, said the job fair is a collaboration that connects job seekers with employers in the private and public sectors.
People looking for work are advised to wear business casual clothing, bring a resume or an equivalent and be prepared to ask and answer plenty of questions.
The industries most looking for people are healthcare facilities, restaurants and police and fire departments, Mondragon said, but, “At this job fair, here is a job for everyone.”
Mondragon said there were 110 hires from last year’s fair with 480 people attending.
Veterans, military families, retirees, students, and the underemployed, along with anyone else searching for that ideal position, are invited.
Mondragon said other sponsors include the cities of Portales and Clovis, Roosevelt and Curry counties, Cannon Air Force Base and the Clovis Industrial Development Corporation.
