BRADENTON, Fla. — Eastern New Mexico University’s athletes competing Thursday and Friday in the NCAA Division II championships bowed out in the preliminaries.
The meet continues today with just one Greyhound athlete remaining — Alexis Aguirre competing in the javelin.
The Greyhounds had four individual events and a relay team competing Friday.
Melina Gryschka led ENMU, finishing 14th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She posted a time of 10:42.45, with the event won by St. Leo’s Collett Rampff at 10:23.91.
Augustus Swanson finished 15th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.97. Shawn Rowe of St. Augustine’s won the event with a time of 50.45 seconds.
Julian Coronado was 16th in the 100 preliminaries with a time of 10.62 seconds.
The men’s 400 relay team was disqualified, and freshman Marcus Parker did not run his heat in the 200.
