1952: Mrs. Randolph Benelle of Clovis was the victim of vandalism for the second time in a week.

She told police her garden hose had been torn into small pieces both times in overnight incidents.

Police investigated and found the culprit. It was a neighbor’s dog, the Clovis News-Journal reported.

1952: Montgomery Ward was holding its annual dress event as well as other sales.

Cotton and Rayon dresses for juniors, misses and women were as low as $5.98.

Colorful, smooth-fitting suits for swimming or sunning went for $6.98 (sizes 32-38).

Also, tubular-steel chairs in multiple gay colors were $4.88 each.
