1937: A Liberal, Kansas, woman was killed in a one-car rollover near Farwell.

Hattie Grainger, 72, died from head injuries in the accident that also left five injured.

Authorities said the victim's daughter, Mabel Grainger, was driving when a tire on the car blew out.

1937: Clovis' Buick dealer was inviting fight fans to listen to the radio broadcast of the Joe Louis-James Braddock heavyweight championship at the Clovis showroom.

Bi-State Motor advertised it had "seats for all."

Louis won by eighth-round knockout.

The fight took place June 22, 1937.
