Accessories make your holiday look

Make your Independence Day holiday fashionable and patriotic with a mix of prints.

For the first idea, bring back the maxi dress and add a belt to add a little more chic, like the blue and white southwest print by Ralph Lauren. Adding a red sandal will complete your look.

If you aren’t one for dresses, try on white straight-leg jeans with a navy striped tee. When planning your red, white and blue pairings, nautical pieces are the simplest to come by and can be edgy and cool.

Adding a splash of red always works well in accessories. Whether you consider your shoe selection the accessory or a red and white clutch, you certainly want to make this bright hue the final piece.

Another idea is keeping it simple in bright white. A tunic-style white dress can't be beat. Plus, the selections are endless when it comes to choosing accessories.

Whether you choose to wear all stars or all stripes, let your accessories do the talking.

Don’t forget your minimalistic blazer or cropped knitted sweater for the possibility of a chilly evening. When dressing for any occasion, you definitely want to be prepared if the weather shifts.

My last Fourth of July holiday, I was inspired to paint my nails red, white, blue with glitter. Even if you're one to keep things subtle, your holiday mani-pedi should be an exception.
