Crossing repairs may impact travel

PORTALES — BNSF Railway will be conducting repairs on the railroad crossing at Avenue I and Commercial Street in Portales today through Thursday, according to city officials.

City Manager Sammy Standefer said southbound travelers can detour through Community Way and onto Avenue K.

“If you’re coming the other way, you just have to take Commercial down to the B crossing,” he said.
