County employees may get raise

CLOVIS — Curry County employees may have a 3 percent cost of living pay raise effective late this month, depending on action taken at today’s regular commission meeting.

County commissioners are scheduled to discuss and request action on a resolution that would give all at-will county employees of one year or longer a one-time cost of living salary increase effective Aug. 27, according to the county meeting packet.

Employees who have not yet worked for the county at least one year will receive the COLA raise the day after they have completed one full year and after Aug. 27.

The COLA raise is based on “inflation and other factors,” and is subject to funds availability. Citing staff vacancies, the resolution would also permit overtime pay eligibility for all detention lieutenants with the county jail, effective Aug. 27.

Other items scheduled for today’s Curry County Commission Meeting set for 9 a.m. at 417 Gidding St.:

• Annual site visit to the Curry County Adult and Juvenile Detention Center.

• Request for approval of a memorandum of understanding between the county’s Foster Grandparent Program and Clovis and Melrose Municipal Schools.

• Report on events, finances and sponsorships for the Events Center and Fairgrounds buildings.

• Discussion and request approval for the roofing contract project bid at the county courthouse.
