1952: The Sunshine Theatre was robbed after some "youngsters" hid out in the balcony until after closing, law enforcement suspected.

Between $60 and $65 was stolen from a filing cabinet with no signs of forced entry.

The burglary was discovered by a janitor at 6:30 a.m.

1952: Eastern New Mexico University Music Chairman Paul T. McNutt's resignation was announced by ENMU President Floyd D. Golden.

McNutt had served on the faculty since 1951 after transferring from Northwest Missouri State College and is retiring with no future plans.

His spot remained open upon his resignation for the following couple of days.
