Bend fashion rules with your Labor Day party

Labor day is next week and we're borderline bending the fashion rules this holiday with a "White Out" theme.

Are you hosting a party? Send an update alert to your guest that this year's party is now a wearing all white theme. Some will still say that it’s in poor taste to wear white after Labor Day, but no one ever said you can't wear white on Labor Day.

But if you don't want to irritate your guests with last minute changes, this is a great idea for next year and can be your annual theme party. You and your guest can use this opportunity to wear white clothing for one last summer bash.

Another style idea is keeping it simple and classic. Your weekend activities will be your main focus for the holiday so you will want to be comfortable, cool and ready for whatever the day may bring. Cropped jeans, a cool tucked in blouse or T-shirt paired with your most comfortable and stylish flats should do the trick. Pull your hair back and sport your best sunglasses with statement earrings to add a little flare.

The guys can keep it simple with what they already have. For instance, wear a pair of Dockers-inspired slacks paired with a quarter button up polo. Pair this outfit with a classic sneaker or a desert suede boot or shoe. If all else fails — man, woman or child — you can't go wrong with chino shorts and a button up.
