GOLDEN, Colo. — Eastern New Mexico University has so far come up empty in the Oredigger Classic, dropping two matches at the neutral-site tournament Friday afternoon.
The Greyhounds fell to Wayne State 25-16, 19-25, 25-17, 25-14 in the afternoon, then suffered a 25-11, 25-20, 25-13 sweep at the hands of Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.
Sarah Tuioti-Mariner had 11 kills to lead ENMU in the first match, while Brooklyn Biel added nine to go with four blocks and Jasmine Gannon had five kills. Senior Andrea Aguilar had 20 digs. Meghan Gebhardt had 42 assists for Wayne State.
Biel led the Hounds in the nightcap with seven kills, while Gannon added six.
The Greyhounds continue today in the Classic, with a 1 p.m. match against Regis and a 5:30 p.m. challenge against No. 10 Augustana.
