There's nothing that I'm more fond of in fashion than mixing and matching accessories with old and new fashions. Here are some trendy favorites that have taken notice this season and why they are the cool factor for fall:
Layering necklaces — Low-cut blouses and plunging necklines could not have a better fix than the layering of necklaces. A delicate choker mixed with a few braided chains is a timeless look and is always stylish. Charm necklaces, beads and Casablanca chains are also great layering pieces that work with your favorite plunging tops or solid colored tops. This look is cool because a necklace will always give a spark to a bare and otherwise boring neckline.
Oversized blazers — If you browse any fashion magazine online or in print, you'll see your household names wearing oversized blazers. Shoulder pads and all, an oversized plaid blazer is the look for fall. Pair yours with your favorite distressed jeans, a topknot and your favorite heels. Also, take a cue from the menswear department in a slouchy tweed overcoat. This trend is cool because the proportions of this oversized coat can easily be unflattering so it’s a fun fashion challenge. Predictable fashion can be boring. It’s more fun to try something new.
Fanny Pack — Talk about trying something new. Well, this one is an oldie but goodie. The fanny pack is back. Vogue is calling it the new "it bag." This throwback to the 80s and early 90s has long been the ugly stepchild of accessories, but not anymore. Chanel and Diane Von Furstenberg have sampled their versions of the bag and it has never been more popular than it is right now. It girls and street-style stars have been wearing them all summer. Watch out for these looks this fall.
