1972: Gail Kinyon and Anna Crook won the Colonial Park Ladies Golf Championship. The pair had been "consistent winners" in monthly High Plains Golf Association contests, according to the Clovis News-Journal, with the Colonial Park team capturing the traveling trophy a half dozen times.

Kinyon and Crook won low gross and low net to secure the championship. Forty-eight women from Friona, Farwell, Muleshoe, Olton, Dimmitt, Tulia, and Clovis participated.

1967: Bernalillo Hall, a 450-student high rise dormitory, was completed and open for the first time as the 1967-68 academic year got under way at Eastern New Mexico University.

Donna Laney of Melrose was photographed on move-in day as she began her freshman year. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Laney, were on hand to help with "the heavy task of moving in," as was her sister, Sherolyn.
