ENMU rodeo teams compete at Phillips College

BORGER, Texas — The Eastern New Mexico University rodeo team produced a quality showing at the rodeo hosted by Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas, this past weekend.

The women's team finished eighth with 55 points while the men's team had 10 points.

Tarleton State won the women's event with 383.3 points while Weatherford College won the men's rodeo with 400 points.

On the women's side, Celie Vick split fourth and fifth in the short go and was fifth in the average of the goat tying. Tawny Barry was 2.6 seconds in the first go of the breakaway roping, splitting seventh, eighth and ninth, but had no time in the short go. Kaci Kamm rode a 2.4 to split fourth and fifth in the first go of the breakaway roping, but failed to place in the short go or the average.

Trey Jackson earned all 10 points by the men's team in the steer wrestling. He wrestled in a time of 5.3 seconds in the short go for a sixth-place finish.

ENMU returns to action Oct. 19-21 at Texas Tech in Lubbock.
