Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
CLOVIS — There’s no surer sign that the holiday season is approaching than the sight of a Salvation Army red kettle and the ringing of a bell outside local stores.
But before it starts accepting holiday donations, the Clovis Salvation Army will once again begin its annual holiday fundraising campaign with the fourth Annual Kettle Kick-off on Friday.
Mayor David Lansford will serve as the master of ceremonies for the event.
Salvation Army Corps Officer Lt. Kelly Berggren said the red kettle campaign is the group’s largest fundraiser, accounting for about 65 percent of its yearly budget.
The kickoff will take place at the Salvation Army location at 317 E. Second St. The cost is $50 for an individual or $350 for a table of eight.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event starts at 6.
