Boots go-to shoes for fall

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and you're probably getting your fat pants ready. It’s time for good eats and even better Thanksgiving fashion.

With all the demands of daily life and yoga pants all week long, a little bit more fashion for the holidays isn't a bad idea. So far, the weather seems to be fair and will continue on through Thanksgiving. It’s best you layer up though. You'll want to be prepared for both the sunshine and rain.

A fair prediction of Thanksgiving attire this year will be boots, boots and more boots. You can’t go wrong with boots for fall. Virtually every style is popular in boots this season, and that's the easy part. Finding a fresh new look to pair them with may be the biggest challenge.

I love coming up with new looks from old clothing. Shopping new for the holiday isn’t always necessary. You can find awesome looks shopping your own closet.

Here is look number one — Boot style: Combat. This rugged and tomboyish boot can be gussied up by pairing with a flowing bohemian-style dress. Show off a little bit of leg with a shorter length. This look is cool, comfy and playful.

Look number two — Boot style: Booties. Pair your cute ankle-high boot/booties with a pair of ripped jeans and an over-sized shirt of your choice. This is the easiest look of all to put together considering it's a typical go-to for any occasion.

Look three — Boot style: Over the knee (OTK). There are so many OTK boot styles that are popular and so many ways to wear them. Pair them with sweater dresses or skinnies. Another fun look to try with your OTK this holiday season is a short poof skirt. Pair with a button-up collar shirt and top layer sweater for a preppy chic look.
