Tell-all reaction has familiar ring

Of all the many “tell all” books I have ever seen advertised, the only one I can think of that comes close to actually “telling all” is Donna Brazile’s “Hacks.”

I haven’t read the book yet, but the reviews and pre-issue extracts have convinced me that I will do my part to ensure that the book remains on the New York Times best seller list.

What follows is a partial list of those Brazile throws under the bus in her latest book.

Barack Obama’s neglect left the party broke and in debt. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was not the most active Democratic National Committee chair in raising funds and was not a good manager. Hillary rigged the election against Bernie Sanders. DNC staff and lawyers refused to answer questions about the sharing of money raised and there was, “a lot of shuffling of feet and looking the other way” when the question was asked.

Brazile also writes in some detail about the extensive conflict and discord throughout the campaign.

One of the most shocking revelations in Brazile’s book is the fact that she seriously considered trying to replace Hillary and her running mate, Tim Kaine, with Vice President Joe Biden and Gov. Cory Cooker. Brazile deliberated the issue with herself after what Democrats called Clinton’s fainting spell and others referred to as her collapse on Sept. 11, 2016.

While one prominent Democrat stepping up to confront the Clintons with accusations of wrongdoing is almost unheard of, two prominent Democrats doing the same is the exception that proves the rule. When Sen. Elizabeth Warren was asked by CNN’s Chief Washington Correspondent Jake Tapper, “Very quickly senator, do you agree with the notion that it was rigged?” Warren responded without the slightest hesitation: “Yes.”

When Warren decides to throw someone over the side because of fraud and cheating, she’s eminently qualified to make that decision. After all it was Warren who was described as Native American in a 1996 story in the “Harvard Crimson” and as Harvard Law School’s “first woman of color” in a 1997 Fordham Law Review piece. Warren has no documentation to back up any claim of Cherokee ethnicity and the Cherokee Nation also has no documentation affirming the claim.

In spite of all this, Hillary remains defiant and continues to fight back against all charges that she may have done anything dishonest. It’s the Clinton school of news handling. Deny until backed into a corner, then claim it’s old news and it has been litigated a long time ago. This has worked for them more than once, and they count on it one more time.
