Cass named to region's second team

PORTALES — Following his third-straight season leading the Lone Star Conference in rushing, Eastern New Mexico University senior running back Kamal Cass was named to the D2CCA Footall All Super Region Four second team.

Cass, who became ENMU’s all-time leading rusher with 4,301 yards and 50 touchdowns, helped the Greyhounds go 8-2 on the season.

Players are selected to the team via nominations and votes from sports information directors in the region’s schools.

Cass has twice been named an All-American and LSC Offensive Back of the Year. During his four seasons, ENMU went 28-17 with a 12-5 mark in the LSC, and this year made the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 poll for the first time in 14 seasons.

He was one of 11 LSC players named to the team.
