Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Today’s family in need: This young lady has three children she supports by herself.
The young mother has three girls, ages 5 and under, and came to the Salvation Army to do community service. She was asked if she was interested in receiving Christmas assistance, and “she said she tries not to ask for help,” said Salvation Army Lt. Kelly Berggren.
“I know they could use some help,” he said.
About the Empty Stocking Fund: The fund is a joint venture of the Salvation Army and The Eastern New Mexico News. The fund helps low-income families with toys, food and clothing.
How to help: The Eastern New Mexico News is accepting Empty Stocking Fund donations at its newspaper offices in Clovis (521 Pile St. or P.O. Box 1689, Clovis 88101) and Portales (101 E. First St. or P.O. Box 848, Portales 88130).
