CLOVIS - Curry County commissioners today are expected to review the county's 2018 legislative capital outlay requests and priorities previously identified in August.
The requests include $3 million for improvements and renovations to the Curry County Courthouse, $790,000 for road improvements, $160,00 to purchase a rolling packer for the Curry County Road Department, and $60,000 for new heating/air conditioning units for the Curry County Health Department.
Curry County Manager Lance Pyle said the priorities and requests selected by commissioners today will be presented to the state Legislature in January.
Also on the agenda:
• The board will vote on the operating budget for the Curry County Events Center and Fairgrounds for 2018.
• The board will vote on adoption of the Curry County American with Disabilities Act Transition Plan. The plan identifies three county facilities that require modifications in order to be compliant with the law including the Curry County Courthouse, Curry County Fairgrounds and County Extension Office.
• The board will vote on a resolution that gives Norman Rose Sub-division owner Roger Hatcher until Sept. 30 to bring portions of Ora Drive and Jesse Avenue up to county road standards.
• The board will vote on a change order in the amount of $2,971.50 for additional concrete for the Broadview Fire Station. Pyle said the building is close to completion and the county hopes to have a ribbon-cutting ceremony in January.
• The board will vote on a list of roads to be studied for potential reclassification compiled by Curry County Road Superintendent Dennis Fury.
• The board will vote on an agreement with ENMR Telephone Cooperative for the placement of four small cell sites that would include a street light that doubles as a wireless antenna. The agreement calls for ENMR to pay the county $600 for each cell for a five-year period.
