1972: Cub Scouts from Clovis Packs 226 and 350 brightened the lives of residents of the Retirement Ranch with a program of Christmas carols presented the week before.
Den mother Patricia Anderson and her assistant Agnes Brown were photographed by the Clovis News-Journal, along with caroling Cub Scouts Keith Bolton, Mark Bolton, Norman Clark, Don Dickenson, Billy Galdwell, Charles Philpott and Brian Oakley.
The holiday singers performed in front of a tree which had been donated by Yucca Junior High.
1952: Five Portales families and 48 Clovis families received Christmas boxes compiled and delivered by members of the Clovis Elks Club.
The boxes, which included "a large baking hen for Christmas dinner," according to the Clovis News-Journal, were delivered by six trucks on Christmas Eve.
Elks members photographed as they helped with the project included Frank Barnett, C.W. Burkett, Clinton Craig, J.E. Darr, Tom J. Finley, Glenn Hapes, Carl Hogg, Tony Holmberg, A.G. Jones, Roy Leslie, C.L. Odom, W.A. Powell, Jeff Price, Modrel Willams and C.G. Willis.
