Last detail: check your hair

’Tis the last day of 2017. Make what you will of the top fashion trends for 2018 — with today's styles varying from paying homage to fashion's past to eccentric accessories and vibrant colors.

The only style detail left to check off your list is your hair update. Elle magazine has predicted the biggest hair trends for 2018 and here's a little detail about them all.

The first one is the curly shag. Believe it or not, this “Flashdance” 1980s style has been sampled by a few celebs and models and you know what that means — yep, the stamp of hairstyle approval. If you like full body and textured mane, this is a good look for you. If you're naturally curly then let it be free. Stay tuned.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is the sleek and chic. This Cher-inspired look isn’t going away in 2018. I've seen flat-ironed, bone-straight hair everywhere I go lately.

Next are ribbons. Ribbons are the hair accessory of choice for 2018 according to the spring runways. A number of designers dressed their models’ hair in big fancy bows and the look caught enough notice to become number three on the list for the hottest hair trend of 2018. Add a textile leather or velvet ribbon to your ponytail and see how many heads you turn.

Number four named on the hottest hair trends is the classic blowout. As a huge fan of big hair I say yes to the hot rollers. Bouncy blowouts will be big in 2018.

Last but not least that made the hair trends for 2018 is bangs. The most popular bang is the "curtain bang" where you'll have a part to peak at the forehead. This bang is laid-back and chic.
