Last time out: The Pioneers fell 66-58 on Dec. 19 to non-conference Northeastern State, and haven’t played an Lone Star Conference contest since topping UT Permian Basin 78-61 Dec. 9. The Greyhounds grabbed their second LSC win Tuesday with a 69-49 rout of Western New Mexico.
Last meeting: The Greyhounds won both of last season’s matchups, 60-49 at Denton and 84-79 at home.
Notes: The Pioneers’ Alexis Nezianya is seventh in the LSC at 12.6 points per game and third with 8.8 rebounds per game. Only senior post Daeshi McCants (6.8 rpg, 10th) is the only Greyhound in the top 10 in either category. Greyhound guard Dasia Johnson is seventh in the conference at 2.8 assists per game.
