Reporter's notebook: NFL has stories to tell

Storylines abound following the second round of the NFL playoffs.

For the first time since 2006, both conference championship games will not feature a rematch from the regular season when the New England Patriots host the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagles host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

The Eagles, Vikings and Jaguars have all never won a Super Bowl, while the Patriots are tied with the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers with five Super Bowl victories, trailing only the Pittsburgh Steelers’ six.

The Vikings are seeking to become the first team to play the Super Bowl in their home stadium, scheduled for Feb. 4 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, and the Patriots are looking for an NFL record 10th Super Bowl appearance.

The Jaguars have never appeared in a Super Bowl, while the Vikings are tied with the Buffalo Bills for the most Super Bowl appearances without a win at four.
