GardenSource earns state recognition
SANTA FE — A Portales business will be recognized at the New Mexico Small Business Development Center Network Star Client Reception in Santa Fe on Feb. 8, according to a press release from the SBDC.
GardenSource Nursery & Landscaping will be honored as the SBDC Star Client at the annual reception that recognizes businesses that have experienced growth.
Curt and Lisa Jaynes opened the business in 2003.
“GardenSource Nursery & Landscaping is now on half of a city block in Portales, and the staff are experts in xeriscape plants and landscaping for New Mexico’s unique high-desert climate,” according to the release.
The reception will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at the La Fonda on the plaza in Santa Fe.
Cannon-Clovis road work scheduled
CLOVIS — A $5.9 million New Mexico Department of Transportation project will reconstruct about five miles of U.S. 60/84 from Cannon Air Force Base to Clovis, according to a DOT news release.
Work begins today and includes pavement rehabilitation, roadway reconstruction, drainage upgrades, curb and gutter, and other miscellaneous construction.
Traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction through the work zone with intermittent flag control, the release said.
“NMDOT ... will work as quickly and safely as possible to get the work done,” the release said, but no completion date was provided.
