Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
CLOVIS — Cindy’s Hope for Precious Paws is trying to find new homes for the dozens of Chihuahuas that were abandoned around town in early January.
Co-founder Wendy Turner said volunteers will be at the Clovis PetSmart, 601 Texas St., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday with the 26 dumped Chihuahuas that have all been vetted. She said “quite a few” other dogs will also be at the adoption event.
The cost of adopting a dog will be $175, which will include the application and a home check to ensure the dog will be entering a safe environment, Turner said.
