Reporter's notebook: Let the good times roll

PORTALES — Laissez les bons temps rouler, Eastern New Mexico University.

For those that don’t speak French, take note: That means “Let the good times roll,” and if you attend ENMU’s Mardi Gras Masquerade, you might be hearing it a lot.

The free event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday in the Campus Union Building Ballroom, and encourages attendees to come in their best mask or costume.

Don’t have anything to wear? Fear not, for you can buy all your masquerading accessories in the CUB lobby from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and Thursday, as well as at the event. All proceeds go toward ENMU scholarships.

Once you’re decked out in Mardi Gras finery, you’re ready to dance, pose at the photo booth, and contend for prizes all night.
