ENMU's Capellan named LSC Pitcher of the Week

RICHARDSON, Texas — Eastern New Mexico junior Cesar Capellan was honored Tuesday with selection as the Lone Star Conference’s pitcher of the week.

It is Capellan’s first weekly award of the season, and fourth in his Greyhound career.

The right-hander threw a three-hitter in the Greyhounds’ 6-1 win over Fairmont State. He allowed one unearned run and struck out a team-record 15 over nine innings.

Capellan is the first Greyhound baseball player to win a weekly award in 2018. Austin Paisar was the last ENMU player to garner the award last April.

The Greyhounds (9-2) are off this week, and will host Oklahoma Panhandle State 3 p.m. Tuesday.
