Midwestern State at Eastern New Mexico
Men
7:30 p.m.
On the air: KSEL 105.9 FM
Records: Midwestern State 9-16, 5-10. Eastern New Mexico. 10-13, 5-9.
Last time out: The Mustangs lost to West Texas A & M last Saturday, 87-58. The Greyhounds lost at Western New Mexico, 84-80, nine days ago.
Last meeting: Midwestern won in overtime, 89-87, on Jan. 23.
Notes: ENMU currently sits in sixth-place in the Lone Star Conference standings, as it'll try to qualify for the eight-team LSC Tournament. MSU, meanwhile, sits in a much more precarious position, as it right on the cutline, having lost two-straight and possessing just a 2-7 road record. The first meeting between the two was an intense one, as it came down to who could make key shots at the end. This time around could prove to be the same thing. Adding to the intrigue is the point guard matchup between Eastern's Devin and MSU's Devante Pullum, who are brothers. Devante scored 15 points in their Jan. 23 meeting, while Devin scored 12 of his own.
Women
5:30 p.m.
On the air: KSEL 105.9 FM
Records: Midwestern State 12-10, 9-7, Eastern New Mexico 14-9, 10-6
Last time out: MSU lost to West Texas A&M, 78-67, last Saturday afternoon. Eastern won at Texas Woman's last Thursday, 64-58.
Last meeting: The Mustangs beat the Greyhounds, 73-57, back on Jan. 23.
Notes: Tonight's matchup will be a crucial one in the standings, as Eastern leads Midwestern by just one game for fifth in the Lone Star Conference standings. Luckily for MSU, the Hounds had a rough roadtrip last week, losing to then-0-22 Western New Mexico, before narrowly defeating Texas Woman's - who sits just eighth in the current standings. Also, the Mustangs ran away from the Greyhounds in the first meeting. In that Jan. 23 matchup, MSU scored 47 first-half points, and had four players score at least 13 points for the game. Plus, MSU shot 50 free throws, compared to ENMU's 25.
