PORTALES — Financial hardship and a lack of reliable road department vehicles has pushed Roosevelt County to apply for hardship funds, county documents show.
At its meeting at 9 a.m. today in the Roosevelt County Courthouse, the County Commission will consider authorizing County Manager Amber Hamilton to apply for funds to use for the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s annual hardship sale, which offers various maintenance vehicles.
A description of the resolution located in the commission’s meeting packet points to a limited equipment replacement fund and a lack of vehicles to provide “statutory mandated services to county roads and right-of-ways throughout Roosevelt County” as reasons to apply for the funds.
Also at today’s meeting:
• Approval of $386,523 in accounts payable and payroll.
• Consideration of an application to participate in the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration DWI program.
• Presentation of the county’s annual financial report by RPC CPAs and Consultants.
