Curry County officials are scheduled to join others on Friday in celebrating the 20th anniversary of the NEA’s National Read Across America Day.

It’s held in conjunction with children’s author Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

County leaders will be reading their favorite Dr. Seuss book at local schools.

Here is the lineup:

• Clovis Nazarene School, Curry County Manager Lance Pyle

• Barry Elementary, Curry County Commissioner Chet Spear

• Melrose Elementary, Curry County Commissioner Seth Martin

• Texico Elementary, Curry County Clerk Annie Hogland

• Arts Academy at Bella Vista, Curry County Treasurer Debbie Spriggs
