Audits on hospital agenda

PORTALES — Audits of the past and the future will be discussed at tonight’s Roosevelt General Hospital Board of Trustees meeting.

The firm that will conduct the hospital’s audits from 2018 to 2020 will be selected at the meeting, according to RGH Chief Executive Officer Kaye Green.

“In accordance with state law, we issued a request for proposal and several accounting firms submitted proposals to conduct our annual audit for the next three years,” she wrote in an email on Monday. “Our recommendation is to stay with the firm who completed our 2015 and 2016 audits for consistency.”

The hospital’s 2016 audit report will also be presented to the board, Green said.

Also at tonight’s meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the RGH Clinic conference room:

• The board will consider a resolution restating that RGH will receive 1/2 cent from Roosevelt County’s gross receipts tax.

Green said that in 2017, the county extended this contribution to the hospital through 2037.

“The joint resolution simply restates that support,” she said.

• The board will also approve its bylaws, an action that is taken annually, according to Green.

“These are typical bylaws that define (how) the Hospital Board of Trustees will function and govern,” she said.
