Thousands lose power in Clovis

CLOVIS — A transmission line outage has affected about 4,464 customers in northeast Clovis Thursday evening, according to an Xcel Energy spokesman.

Wes Reeves of Xcel said crews are checking lines now. When the fault is discovered, Xcel will either reroute power or clear the fault and re-energize the line.

We'll have more information as it becomes available.

(Update, 6:42 p.m.): Reeves said a malfunction was discovered at a substation and power is being routed around it.

Update, 7:04 p.m.): Reeves said power was restored to its customers at 6:47 p.m.
