1973: Eastern New Mexico University had six days of concerts, dances, and special entertainment lined up for its annual "Spring Fling," a week designed to offer some stress-relieving activities for students facing final exams.

Events included solo concerts by John Hartford and Chi Coltrane, free movies, and a watermelon party. Organizers had also added a week-long Easter egg hunt for students who could collect the eggs to earn points that could be redeemed for prizes including two 10-speed bicycles.

A mind reader and a caricaturist were also expected on campus during the week.
