CLOVIS — Due to academic testing, Clovis Municipal Schools has pushed back the start times for both its baseball and softball doubleheaders Friday against Sandia.
Both of the home doubleheaders are now scheduled for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The baseball team (19-3), ranked No. 2 in Class 6A, is riding a 10-game winning streak with a 6-0 mark in District 2-6A. The Matadors (12-7, 3-3) will try to keep sole possession of third place behind the Wildcats and No. 1 La Cueva (19-2, 6-0).
In softball, the Wildcats (2-14, 2-4) are fifth in District 6-2A after getting their first wins of the season in a doubleheader sweep at Santa Fe. Sandia (14-4, 6-0) leads the district by two games and is ranked No. 5 in Class 6A.
