Reporter's notebook: Trains on track

All aboard, Clovis: Trains are rolling in on Saturday, but not the kind you might think.

The Clovis Area Train Society is holding a model train show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Ingram Room of the Clovis-Carver Public Library. Eugene Kelly said visitors will be able to see several table tops full of model trains.

"Various members have built different modules. Each scenic's different from the next, and they all join together to create one large layout," he said.

Kelly hopes the community will come out to see the spectacle, but said society members would also like to meet anyone interested in trains — models or otherwise.

"We love to talk all things trains, from a modeling standpoint clear up to real life and restorations," he said.
