Grass fire chars 30-40 acres

CLOVIS - A grass fire southwest of Clovis on Saturday consumed about 30 to 40 acres, but no structures were burned and no injuries reported, officials said.

Firefighters responded just before noon to County Road 7 and County Road M, Clovis Fire Department Lt. John Bradley said.

Five Clovis units, an ambulance and tanker from Texico and a tanker from Cannon Air Force Base responded to the blaze.

Woman sought on arrest warrant

CLOVIS - Police on Saturday were looking for a woman accused of trafficking a controlled substance following a search of a Clovis home on Tuesday that recovered over 4 pounds of marijuana.

An arrest warrant was issued for Lisa Connors following a search of a residence in the 100 block of Rosa Street, according to a police news release.

The residence was identified following a Tuesday morning incident at Clovis High School where marijuana edibles were recovered from a student, the release said.

Police asked anyone who knows where Connors might be contact them at 575-769-1921.
