Reporter's notebook - RGH introduces DAISY Award

Nurses at Roosevelt General Hospital will soon be recognized for something they exhibit every day: Compassionate care for their patients.

RGH is beginning the semi-annual distribution of the DAISY Award, which recognizes recipients who “go above and beyond to exhibit extraordinary compassion for each patient and their families,” according to a press release from the hospital.

Patients, families and colleagues can nominate the nurse they think deserves the award, and recipients will be chosen by a committee. They will then be presented with a certificate, a pin and a sculpture at special celebrations throughout the year.

To nominate an RGH nurse you think deserves the award, call 575-226-6669.
