Tassel maker, book bags on future show

Information on using the Boye Pom Pom and Tassel Maker and working with Fast2Fuse interfacing for bag making will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. and on Thursday at noon. (All times are Mountain.)

Michele Muska is in Enfield, Connecticut. She’s going to demonstrate several projects featuring the Boye Pom Pom and Tassel Maker. She’ll discuss the types of fibers to use and then show some finished projects that are fun to make.

There is a wide variety of bag books and patterns in an array of styles, methods, levels of difficulty and purposes, and Roxane Cerda show some of these. By combining these projects with easy-to-use fusible interfacing you’ll get a bag you’ll love to use. Cerda is from Concord, California.

Information on making coordinated party supplies, refinishing wooden stools, and creating a greeting card with a removable paper hair flower will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at noon and on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Designer Laura Bray will show how to create a coordinated set of party supplies using a few scrapbook supplies. She’s in Aliso Viejo, California.

Bruce Johnson is the spokesperson for Minwax in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. He’s going to show how to refinish one small unfinished wooden stool to create three different looks — traditional, children’s rooms and modern.

Donna Salazar is a professional crafter and designer, and she’s going to show how to create a greeting card with a removable paper hair flower. She’s in Irvine, California.

Create an entire party place setting

The entire place setting took only two sheets of 12x12 scrapbook paper. The cost (with embellishments) was approximately $3.

Placemats

Supplies: Coordinating Scrapbook paper, border punch and/or decorative edge scissors and ribbon

Instructions: One 12x12" scrapbook paper sheet will create one placemat. Use border punch to create a decorative edge on the placemat. Thread ribbon through holes of decorative edge.

Napkin Rings

Supplies: Scrapbook paper, border punch and/or decorative edge scissors, floral embellishment and glue

Instructions: Cut a 2" x 9" rectangle out of scrapbook paper. Use border punch to create a decorate edge. Glue flowers or other embellishment to top of napkin ring.

Cup wrapper

Supplies: Plain paper cup, scrapbook paper, cup sleeve from coffee shop, decorative edge scissors, ribbon and glue.

Instructions for cup wrappers: Using a cup sleeve from your local coffee shop, create a template for your cup wrapper. Trace onto scrapbook paper and cut-out. Cut along edges with decorative scissors. Wrap around a plain plastic cup, glue and embellish with a ribbon.

Drink stirrers

Supplies: Lollipop stick, scrapbook paper, glue, and feathers or other embellishments

Instructions for drink stirrers: Cut out an interesting image from the scrapbook paper’s design. Glue onto lollipop stick. Embellish with feathers.

Goody bags

Supplies: Cellophane bags, scrapbook paper, stapler and staples, ribbon and candy

Instructions: Cut out a 3 1/2” x 3" rectangle from scrapbook paper. Fill bag with candy or toys or other party favors.

Fold paper rectangle over top of bag and staple in place, add embellishments or punch holes in paper, thread ribbon through and tie in a bow.
