CASPER, Wyo. — Eastern New Mexico has another contender on its hands, as Celie Vick became the second Greyhound to qualify for Saturday night’s short-go finals at the College National Finals Rodeo.
Vick’s third go-round on Wednesday night in goat tying produced a time of 6.3 seconds, second only to Maddee M. Doerr (6.1). With Wednesday’s performance, Vick qualifies for Saturday’s final, as she sits fourth overall (20.5). Doerr, meanwhile, is first overall at 19.3 seconds after three rounds.
Vick joins teammate Lindsey Adcock, who qualified for the breakaway roping final after her third go on Tuesday night. As of press time, a third Greyhound, Landon Beardsworth, was performing his third go-round in steer wrestling Thursday night.
