Curry to hold special meeting on design finalists

CLOVIS — The Curry County Commission will hold a special meeting today in order to further evaluate the three finalists for the county’s request for proposal for architectural services at the Curry County Courthouse.

The Hartman + Majewski Design Group, Dyron Murphy Architects, P.C. and NCA Architects, LLC will each be allocated 20 minutes to present their vision for the courthouse renovation project.

County Manager Lance Pyle said the evaluation will meet again following the presentations and will have a recommendation for the commission at its Aug. 7 meeting.

Purchasing Agent Troy Hall said the county received four responses to the RFP and invited the top three candidates to present further.

Also on the agenda for today's special meeting, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the commission chambers at the Curry County Administrative Complex, 417 Gidding St.:

• A pair of requests from two agencies to waive contract requirements and make a payment for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2018.

The funding totals are $1,250 to the Curry Residence Senior Meals Association (CRSMA) and $2,500 to the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce. The requests were on the agenda for the board's July 17 meeting but were not addressed because CRSMA Director Cherisse Perez and Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ernie Kos were not present.

• A memorandum of understanding between the Curry County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program and the New Mexico Senior Olympics so the county can provide volunteer assistance.
