Life's loves: Traveling, decorating, painting

About myself ...

Well, my name is Shane Grah, and I was born at Cannon AFB. My loves in life are traveling, decorating and painting. I also have a thing for Trans Ams.

I'm a chalk painting maniac, Annie Sloan stockist and lover of all things antique and vintage — especially Art Deco.

I have a store here in Clovis on Main St. called Prairie Roads JunQtique; it's actually only five doors down from my mom's store, Penny Lane.

Antiques have always been a staple in my life, my friends as a child used to joke about how I lived in a museum. I'm big on family and put them before anything else — probably explains how my mom and I ended up in the same business with stores on the same block.

What would you do if you won $1 million?

If I won a million dollars I would buy a bigger storage building to house all my treasures!

Tell us about your pets:

I have 5 pets; 4 dogs and one cat.

Pico, Kloe, Peta and Mutski are my dogs. Pico and Kloe are Chihuahuas, Peta is a Maltese and Mutski is a question. LOL. They are all super lovable dogs and love spending time with people.

Then there is Wombat the cat, who is the friendliest cat out there. If she could, she would spend her whole life sitting in a lap getting all the lovin' she can get.

What is your most prized possession?

My most prized possession is my Black 2000 W S.6 convertible Trans Am. I really enjoy taking it out on the road and driving with the top down. Road trips in this car are so much more fun!

What's your idea of a perfect day?

My idea of a perfect day — "That's a tough one. I'd have to say April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket." — Miss Congeniality. Seriously though, any day where its sunny and not too hot.

What is your theme song?

My theme song would be "Work B*tch" by Britney Spears. Bet that's not something you expected to read. Lol. In all reality, it's a great song and motivates me to do everything from pushing to the next level at the gym, to getting my butt in gear at my store and getting to work.

If you could have a super power, what would it be and why?

If I could have a superpower my superpower would probably be to fly.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a child I wanted to be everything, but at the core of everything was working for myself which I proudly am able to do.

What does your garden grow?

My garden doesn't grow much besides huge floribunda roses! My backyard is magical a few times a year when they all seem to bloom at the same time.

What are you reading?

I'm currently reading The Colourist by Annie Sloan — her new bookazine.

What do you collect?

I collect crystal; my home would be dangerous in an earthquake.

How would you like to be remembered?

I would like to be remembered as a nice and generous guy who did what he could to help others in the community.

If money were no object, what would you do to make eastern New Mexico a better place?

If money were no object, to make Eastern New Mexico a better place I would seriously upgrade the parks. As in adding more and upgrading the ones we currently have with flowers, gardens, more trees water fountains, sculptures, local art and more.

Who would play you if someone made a movie about your life?

If someone made a movie about me the person that would play me would be... Daniel Craig. LOL - weird question.

What would you like for your last meal?

My last meal would be steak and potatoes with a lobster tail and huge garlic buttery shrimps.

Tell us about your favorite hobby.

I technically have two favorite hobbies — decorating my store and painting furniture. Both are relaxing to me and I really enjoy doing either of them.
