SANTA ROSA — A California man was killed and two other people were injured early Thursday in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 84 in Guadalupe County.
A 2005 Dodge pickup was traveling north and "for reasons unknown crossed the center line into south traffic colliding head on with a 2018 Kenworth semi-truck," according to New Mexico State Police Public Information Officer Ray Wilson.
The driver of the Dodge, Vitaly V. Chriskiy, 43, of Everta, California, was killed in the collision, Wilson said.
The driver of the truck, 56, from Oakdale, California, was injured, along with a 28-year-old Alamogordo man who was in a 2012 Volkswagen that collided with debris connected to the crash, Wilson said.
The accident happened about 2 a.m. Thursday and forced closure of the road for about four hours.
The road closure delayed delivery of The Eastern New Mexico News on Thursday, but that delivery driver was not involved in the accident.
