Sewing instructor Nancy Lovett knows that sometimes home sewers become discouraged with the project they are making and it’s usually due to poor pattern fitting. She’s going to share several tips for successful garment sewing. She’s from Albuquerque.
Mitch Teller is going to explain how to change or update kitchen cabinet hardware to transform the look and take the cabinets from boring to exciting. He’s from Irvine, California.
K. C. Cornwell is going to show some of the new and delicious gluten-free products that have recently become available on the market. Whether a person is gluten intolerant or not, the best news is that these new products taste delicious and make food preparation much easier. Cornwell is from Madera, California.
Information on working with Hearty Clay, using an on-line room planner and making duct tape rosettes will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at noon on Tuesday and at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Dianna Effner is a designer of doll molds, and she will show several dolls and other items made from Hearty Clay. She’ll show how to mix colors and how to condition the clay for pressing. Her company is in Jamestown, Missouri.
Lacy Jones is a visual coordinator and she’s going to show how to arrange any room in the house in just five easy steps with an easy-to-use online room planner.
Crafter and designer Marisa Pawelko will show how to make duct tape rosettes using non-stick cutting tools and rolls and sheets of duct tape. She’ll show lots of uses for these rosettes, including jewelry, pouches, corsages and more. She lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Gluten Free Fudge Brownies
• 3/4 cup gluten free flour blend
• 3/4 tsp. xanthan gum
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 1/2 tsp. baking powder
• 1/3 cup cocoa
• 1/2 cup oil
• 2 eggs
• 2 tsp. vanilla
• 1 1/4 cups sugar
• 1/4 cup water (or cold coffee)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray 8 x 8-inch square pan with cooking spray. In a small bowl, combine flour, xanthan gum, salt, baking powder, and cocoa. Mix and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk oil and eggs together until combined. Add vanilla and sugar. Slowly mix in flour mixture and water. Once all flour is combined, spread evenly into pan. Bake on center rack for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out with few crumbs. Cool and serve. Tip: For more chocolatey flavor add 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
