PORTALES — The Portales City Council is expected to vote to reject the bids it received to build a new fire station when it meets Tuesday.
City Manager Sammy Standefer said all of the bids came in over budget — by 10 percent according to the agenda — and that if the bids are rejected the city would put the project out to bid again.
The meeting, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers at the Memorial Building, will be followed by an executive session to discuss threatened or pending litigation and the purchase, acquisition, or disposal of real property or water rights, according to the agenda.
